A few tips:
- Check your oil: Your oil should be full, especially for transverse (sideways) mounted engines that are common in FWD vehicles, due to the constant left turning which pushes your oil to the right and can dry out your engine on the left side.
The professional racers are known to fill their oil and then put an extra litre in, due to this effect. In event #5, we had one person blow their engine due to low oil.
-
Check your tire wear: It can take only a few laps around the track to wear down a tire that is near bald.
Especially take notice to the front passenger-side tire's outside edge, which gets worned down the worse due to the constant breaking and left turning. Also, if your vehicle has negative camber, take note that the tire wear occurs mostly on the inside of the tire which is not readily visible to you.
